Get angry.

I stopped watching ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ because it started to be too real and then this news is happening and it’s like we’re literally living Margaret Atwood’s words that she wrote in the ‘80s. How is that possible?

-Lauren Ash

"No woman can call herself free who does not control her own body."

— Margaret Sanger

"Many of the Christian faith have said, ‘Well, that’s okay. Contraception is okay.’ And it’s not. It’s a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be."

— Rick Santorum (R)

“I think that people don’t want to listen to us. Or people think women are so strong that they don’t have to speak up about it. Or maybe it's that men have never been pregnant, and they don’t understand what the body goes through—even though they can be there for the nine months and the time after.”

-Serena Williams

"If the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it."

— Mike Huckabee (R)

“If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”

-Todd Akin (R)

"But on the rape thing, it’s like, how does putting more violence onto a woman’s body and taking the life of an innocent child that’s a consequence of this crime, how does that make it better?"

— John Koster (R)
